lawyers rock has been rescheduled
to march 18, 2021
With recent concerns regarding COVID-19, the Illinois Bar Foundation Board and Staff have made the difficult decision to postpone tomorrow night's Lawyers Rock concert fundraiser.
Based on the most recent developments regarding the spread of COVID-19, we feel it is in the best interest of the health and safety of our donors, attendees, and the community at large to postpone Lawyers Rock at this time. We are grateful to all of our wonderful sponsors and those who purchased tickets or have supported our event, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you for your support of Lawyers Rock and the work of the Illinois Bar Foundation. Please contact Jessie Reeves (email@example.com or 312-920-4681) with any immediate questions or concerns.

Melody Angel is from the south side of Chicago. Rock 'n Roll and the Blues took over her life at age 7. Melody blames the following artist's for her obsession: Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Slash, Chuck Berry, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Melody's mom got her a Fender Stratocaster guitar from a pawnshop at age 15, Melody then taught herself to play and never looked back, in fact she plays the same guitar to this day. Currently touring to promote her 2nd full length album, Angels & Melodies, featuring songs like,The Boogie, American Dream, and Dance With Me Baby.
President and Founder of Shoeshine Boy Productions, Paul Farahvar is a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois. He began his musical endeavors by "discovering" bands before they were commercially recognized. With an ear for commercial sound and marketability, he tried to form bands throughout college and law school at the University of Illinois. After years of flailing bands, he co-founded Shoeshine Boy, a pop rock band with a focus on vocal flair and substance. He gave up playing music in 2012 to focus on the law and also artist development, management, and production. He was a partner at the law firm of Cuisinier, Farahvar & Benson, Ltd for 8 years and sat on the board of advisors for the Chicago Music Commission. In October, 2012 he was named as one of the "40 under 40" Lawyers in Illinois. He gave up law to become a full time comedian in 2016.
After becoming a regular at Chicago stand up clubs like Zanies, Comedy Bar and Laugh Factory, Farahvar was given the rare opportunity to host and produce his own monthly (now weekly) show called "Drink Date Laugh" about dating and a comedic game show called "Everyone's a Lawyer" both at the World Famous Laugh Factory. He also regularly tours the country as a headliner and opening act for national headliners Demetri Martin, Jen Kirkman, Gary Gulman, Keith Alberstadt and Chris Franjola. He is also the host of the Podcast "Singles Only" and Make Us a Mix Tape with Marty Derosa and a regular guest host on WGN Radio.

Mike opened Lincoln Hall in October of 2009 and continued the live music platform featuring local and national touring acts including original rock, folk, indie, alt country, rap, and more. The Schubas made the decision to sell the businesses and properties to Bucktown-based Audiotree in April of 2015 but Mike has stayed on in a management role, overseeing the daily F&B program at Schubas and Lincoln Hall.
